Capture meteors, surveil the sky, and make high-resolution planetary images with the ASI676MC USB 3.0 Color Astronomy Camera from ZWO. The square sensor format is especially compatible with wide-angle or fisheye lenses. It also allows for easy mosaic stitching of images. Equipped with a Sony IMX676 CMOS sensor, the camera achieves 12MP resolution with low read noise and no amp glow. It transmits data to your computer quickly, thanks to the USB 3.0 interface and DDR3 256MB cache, with a frame rate as high as 31.2 fps. The camera’s 10.55ke full well capacity allows for long exposures and helps avoid overexposure issues.
2.1MP Sensor The ASI676MC features a 7.1mm square Sony sensor with a resolution of 3552 x 3552. The 2 pixels accommodate a full well capacity of 10.55ke. The sensor boasts a quantum efficiency of 83%. The square shape of the sensor is highly compatible with wide-angle lenses for meteor capture and simplifies mosaic stitching. USB 3.0 & 256M DDR3 Memory The ASI676MC is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. Under long exposure, it effectively avoids frame dropping and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed. High-Conversion Gain Mode HCG mode comes on automatically when the gain is set to 180, and it keeps readout noise as low as 0.56e while maintaining a nearly 11-stop dynamic range. No Amp Glow Using zero-glow amp circuitry, the ASI676MC eliminates amp glowa weak infrared light source often created by traditional CMOS sensors, sometimes seen in the corners of uncalibrated images. You won’t have to worry about it, even during high-gain, long-exposure imaging. IR Cut Window The 21mm diameter, 1.1mm thickness sensor window is infrared-cut coated to reduce IR interference and improve image quality.
